He is an initially unnamed hitchhiker who, after having shot two people (killing one of them) and escaping from prison, forces Tex and Mason to drive him to the state line, holding the latter at gunpoint - he is eventually shot dead by the police after Tex deliberately crashes the car into a ditch.
